John Lawrence Duffy, III was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina.Following completion of parochial schools in Charleston, Mr. Duffy graduated from Bishop England High School in 1995.He graduated from Furman University with a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Spanish in 1999. He graduated from Florida Coastal School of Law (JD) in 2005, and was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 2006.Mr. Duffy is admitted to practice in State and Federal Courts throughout South Carolina. Mr. Duffy was brought up in a familywith deep ties to the Lowcountry of South Carolina, steeped in legal tradition and service to the community. He is fluent in Spanish and honed his Spanish language skills while living in Spain, Argentina and Bolivia. Mr. Duffy joined O’NEILL & PHIPPS, LLC in 2007.Prior to that, he worked for a Charleston Plaintiff’s firm where he represented clients in matters ranging from Automobile Accidents, Worker’s Compensation, Premises Liability, Products Liability, Employment Claims, and Civil Rights matters.Currently, in addition to each of the above practice areas, Mr. Duffy’s practice includes Real Estate, Criminal Defense, Personal Injury, Civil Litigation, Wills and Probate, as well as Immigration.
